Browse the rows you've already knitted. Your count above doesn't change.
Tap once per stitch when you count a row. It should match 0.
That's everything this scarf needs. Practise each one on a small test piece before you start. Tick them off as you go.
| Stitch One loop on the needle. | st |
| Row One trip across, from one end of the needle to the other. Then you turn the work around. | — |
| Front side The side facing you right after you cast on. Clip a safety pin to it so you can always tell. | RS |
| Ridge One bumpy line across the fabric. Each ridge = 2 rows, so you can count ridges to check the counter. | — |
| Gauge How many stitches and rows fit in 10 cm with your yarn. It decides all the numbers. | — |
Both are optional. Leave a box empty if you don't need it.
Knit a garter swatch about 15 cm wide with your yarn, wash and dry it, then count across 10 cm. The pattern's gauge is 22 stitches and 42 rows on 3.5 mm.
Set cast-on to the number in your pattern copy. Your reference scarf is 17 cm at the widest point.
The counter uses these. Shaping rows always land on odd rows (right side), one stitch per shaping row, along one edge.
Type any stitch or row count from the pattern to get your version.
